TK Blog is launched!

TK Blog launched sunriseAnd here we are…day one of my new blog. Why am I starting a Blog?

Does everybody who starts a new blog write one of these “why I am starting a Blog” blogs? Kind of like the obligatory “what I did on my summer vacation” essay on the first day back to school?

I have been caring for children for over 30 years. I also have a father who is an inventor (or well, he was. He may still be inventing in his mind, now. I hope so. But God’s unfathomable sense of humor has seen fit to take away the mind of a man whose greatest asset has always been his mind, and replace it with dementia. God and I will be having words about this someday).

Anyhow. A love of kids. And inventive, creative tendencies. Add a shake of  OCD and a strong desire to teach, and I guess you have me. I like to think outside of the box, or perhaps invent a new box.

I have come up with a lot of ideas over the last 30 years. Some of them are flops. I probably won’t share too many of those. But what about the ideas and inventions that WORK? I have a couple of those ideas. I’d like to share them. Many people have told me I should write a book. And maybe someday I will. But those list of qualities I wrote of me up there? Probably should have included ADD. I’m not sure I truly have the organic, in my brain ADD, but I have created for myself a lifestyle that doesn’t really embrace long drawn out projects. With 14 kids in my home 5 days a week, three employees (all kids I have raised into adulthood), my husband (okay, okay, he’s not really my husband , more my best friend and boyfriend) but we have been courting each other in the same house since 1985…), my 7 year old daughter who is homeschooling…

And a Jack Russel Terrier…

Ya… long term “leave me alone in my office so I can write a book” type projects are pretty difficult to arrange around here. So, writing a blog might be exactly the way for me to share some of my myriad of ideas with you, my reader.

Please subscribe! And thank you for reading!

Terri
